Gleam understands that Santa Monica is a unique place to live -- always ahead of the nation on issues while clinging fiercely to our traditional neighborhoods with their homes, small businesses and parks.  To maintain our sense of community, Gleam knows that we must find a balance between residential and commercial needs, property owners and renters, young families and seniors.  For Gleam, affordable housing and mixed-use development are key to sustaining out rich, diverse heritage,  She is also very keenly aware of the safety concerns of our citizens.  Though crime is at a 50-year low, certain areas like the Pico neighborhood are in need of more emphasis on community-policing partnerships.  Gleam's vision is all of us working together to protect and enhance what we have.
